Cease Fire!

Today marks the 104th anniversary of the cease-fire that ended World War I. The Armistice came into effect at the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month. Over a century later, people around the world are celebrating the end of the war, honoring those who served in the military and remembering those who have died in the service of their respective countries.

A team of researchers used data collected from listening/observation posts during the war to recreate the sounds of the last moments of the war. Artillery on both sides continued firing right up to the last moment. You can hear this audio in the below video.

Wherever you are, whether your nation celebrities today as Veterans Day, Remembrance Day, Armistice Day, or something else, I hope this post finds you all in peace.
